Hollywood heartthrob Matt Bomer has found himself at the center of a hilarious internet moment after priceless jewels vanished from the Louvre Museum in Paris — and his White Collar costars aren’t letting him off the hook so easily.
The Fellow Travelers actor, who famously portrayed charming con artist Neal Caffrey on USA Network’s hit series White Collar, took to Threads and Instagram to cheekily clear his name following reports of an audacious Parisian jewel heist that has shocked the world.

“I would like to state for the record that I had nothing to do with the Louvre,” Bomer wrote on Threads, adding a winking emoji and a photo of himself in Paris.
The actor’s playful denial immediately caught fire on social media, especially among fans nostalgic for White Collar, where Bomer’s character pulled off elaborate art and jewelry thefts — often just a step ahead of the FBI.
Costars Call Out the “Suspect”
Bomer’s White Collar family couldn’t resist joining in on the fun. Tim DeKay, who played FBI Special Agent Peter Burke — Caffrey’s handler and reluctant partner-in-crime-solving — commented, “Yeah, we’ll see about that, Caffrey…”
Tiffani Thiessen, who portrayed Burke’s wife Elizabeth, chimed in with equal skepticism: “But are we to really believe that, friend?”

Meanwhile, Ross McCall, who played rival thief Matthew Keller on the series, pointed the finger at himself. “But I might…” he teased on Instagram, before posting a similar message on Threads: “Maybe I did…”
Interestingly, McCall was actually in Paris around the same time as the Louvre theft, sharing a carousel of photos from the city just days earlier with the caption, “She never disappoints.” Coincidence? The internet doesn’t think so.
The Real Heist at the Louvre
Authorities confirmed that burglars broke into the Louvre Museum on Sunday night, smashing windows and display cases to steal eight priceless jeweled objects — including a diadem worn by Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoleon III, along with necklaces encrusted with royal emeralds and sapphires.
According to reports, the entire operation lasted less than seven minutes and involved an electric ladder and a scooter getaway — a scenario straight out of a White Collar episode.
Fans online couldn’t help but draw comparisons between the real-life heist and the show’s elaborate cons. “This has Neal Caffrey written all over it,” one fan joked on X (formerly Twitter).
White Collar Revival on the Horizon
The timing couldn’t be more perfect for this White Collar-themed internet frenzy. Series creator Jeff Eastin confirmed in 2024 that a revival titled White Collar Renaissance is officially in the works, with Bomer, DeKay, and Thiessen all set to reprise their iconic roles.
Streaming giants Netflix, Peacock, and Prime Video are reportedly competing for the project, which promises to bring back the show’s signature mix of charm, crime, and clever twists.
For now, Matt Bomer maintains his innocence — but his fans (and costars) might never let him live this one down. After all, when priceless jewels go missing in Paris, there’s only one name that comes to mind: Neal Caffrey.
